Event organiser allegedly assaulted over financial dispute, 4 booked in Vasna

An Ahmedabad-based event organiser sustained multiple fractures after he was allegedly assaulted by four persons over a money dispute in the Vasna area of the city, police said.
According to Vasna police, the incident took place on May 15 evening in Ganeshnagar, Bhathagam, Vasna.
Pujaben Mohanbhai Bhati, 27, a homemaker of Bhathagam, alleged that her husband Mohanbhai Bhati was attacked with iron pipes, a baseball bat and wooden sticks by four accused during an argument over pending money linked to a “chit fund”.
Pujaben stated that her husband, who works as an event organiser, had reportedly started the savings scheme around one-and-a-half years ago along with one of the accused, Natubhai Kalabhai Solanki.
Police said that around 6.45 pm on May 15, Natubhai allegedly called Mohanbhai and asked him to visit Ganeshnagar to collect ₹1 lakh connected to the savings arrangement. The complainant and her husband subsequently went to the location.
Natubhai Solanki, along with Manubhai Kalabhai Solanki, Shakti Dhanabhai Solanki and Bablu Dhanabhai Solanki, were present when an argument allegedly broke out over delayed payments.
This made Natubhai aggressive, and he abused her husband and attacked him with an iron pipe. When Mohanbhai allegedly tried to shield himself, he sustained injuries to his left elbow.
Police said Natubhai allegedly threatened to kill the victim during the assault. The other accused allegedly joined in attacking Mohanbhai with a baseball bat, iron pipe and wooden stick, causing serious injuries to his right leg, back and other parts of the body.
During the scuffle, Pujaben also allegedly sustained injuries after being pushed and assaulted by one of the accused.
Local residents intervened and rescued the couple from further assault. Parmar subsequently contacted the 108 ambulance service and the injured man was shifted to Sola Civil Hospital for treatment.
Doctors at the hospital reportedly found fractures in Mohanbhai’s left elbow and right leg. He was later shifted to a private orthopaedic hospital near Mithakhali crossroads, where he underwent surgery on his right leg on May 16 and on his left elbow on May 18.
Based on the complaint, Vasna police have registered a case against the four accused under relevant provisions relating to assault, causing grievous hurt, criminal intimidation and unlawful assembly.
