Elephants go berserk during Ahmedabad rathyatra three people injured

The gods came out of garbhagriha in Ahmedabad to greet the citizens on the occasion of the auspicious 148th Jagannath Rathyatra on Friday.

Amidst the grandeur, the yatra witnessed a tense situation as three elephants participating in the procession went berserk when the yatra reached the Khadia area. The elephants veered off the designated route and entered a different pol (a narrow street or housing cluster).

Seeing the elephants charging through, panic spread among the people, and three individuals were reportedly injured. According to reports, the elephants went out of control in Ghanchi ni Pol in Khadia due to the loud DJ music.

Prompt response from the police and the mahouts ensured elephants were brought under control within minutes, averting what could have been a major tragedy.

As per reports, two to three people sustained injuries including a cameraman from a news channel. Moreover, one male and two female elephants were excluded from rejoining the procession.
