Eight-year-old girl dies after being hit by speeding motorcycle in Daskroi, rider booked

An eight-year-old girl from Vanch village in Daskroi taluka of Gujarat died on Thursday afternoon after she was allegedly struck by a speeding motorcycle while crossing the road near her home. The Vivekanandnagar Police have registered a case of causing death by negligence and rash driving against the motorcyclist.
As per the FIR, the victim, Pinal Rohitbhai Thakor, a Class 3 student of Global English Medium School in Ramol, was returning home around 1 pm after alighting from her school bus. As she attempted to cross the Ramol Road near Jai Ambe Fire Workers, she was hit by a Hero Splendor motorcycle, which was allegedly being ridden at high speed from the Vanch-Ramol side.
The motorcycle was driven “negligently and carelessly”, causing Pinal to suffer severe head injuries, including trauma to the back left side of the skull and a fractured jaw.
Her father, Rohitbhai alias Madhav Rameshbhai Thakor (45), shopkeeper in the village, stated in his complaint that he heard a loud noise of a crash around 1 pm and rushed outside. He found his youngest daughter lying unconscious on the road, while the motorcycle rider stood on the side as a crowd gathered.
The child was immediately taken in an autorickshaw to Om Hospital in Hathijan. Despite efforts, Pinal succumbed to her injuries at 6.47 pm during treatment.
Police have booked the motorcyclist under BNS sections related to rash and negligent driving causing death, and further investigation is on. Officers are verifying whether the rider possessed a valid driving licence and are reviewing the vehicle’s mechanical condition as part of the probe.
