Eight of family charred to death in accident near Surendranagar

A horrific accident claimed  eight lives of a family on the Surendranagar-Lakhtar highway on Sunday afternoon.

As per reports, a family from Dhandhuka’s Zinzar village was travelling to Surendranagar to visit their relatives. Later, when they were en route for shopping, their car collided with another between Zamar and villages of Surendranagar.

The collision resulted in the Dhandhuka family’s car  catching fire, and a total of eight family members, including children and women, were charred to death.

Local police, EMRI ambulance service and the fire brigade rushed to the spot.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem to a government hospital in Surendranagar.

The victims include:

  • Meenaba Virendrasinh Rana, 49, resident of Kadu
  • Kailashba Jagdishsinh Chudasama, 60, resident of Bhavnagar
  • Rajshreeba Narendrasinh Rana, 52, resident of Kadu
  • Divyaba Harendrasinh Jadeja, 35, resident of Kutch
  • Nitaba Bhagirathsinh Jadeja, 58, resident of Jamnagar
  • Pratipalsinh Jagdishsinh Chudasama, 35, resident of Bhavnagar
  • Riddhiba Pratipalsinh Chudasama, 32, resident of Bhavnagar
  • Divyashreeba Pratipalsinh Chudasama, 10 months, resident of Bhavnagar
