Updated: Feb 2nd, 2024

Plans to develop Sabarmati Riverfront are on the checklist of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) since the corporation’s budget involved many projects for Sabarmati Riverfront Development phase III.

The Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (SRFDCL) has sent the revised master development plan for phase I for approval to the state and the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA).

A total of 32 hectares of land have been proposed for development rights lease at ₹4,982.70 cr.

A total of eight value zones falling on the east and west sides of the riverfront are scheduled for development.

As one of the value zones of land near Shankar Bhuvan includes slum areas and private ownership, a total of seven value zones have been approved for development.

For the development of commercial offices and hospitals along different locations on the riverfront, the SRFDCL has requested 20-30 years of tender offers for development rights.

To develop phase III of the project, an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding)worth ₹1,000 cr has been signed between the state and Dubai-based Sobha Realty, as per the draft budget.

The riverfront’s east and west sides are scheduled to get developments after the standing committee approves the proposal for all seven value zones.

After the approval, locations along the Sabarmati Riverfront will get skyscrapers, commercial buildings, and other development infrastructure.
