Earthquake shakes Gujarat's Amreli, no casualties reported

Tremors of the earthquake of 3.7 on the Richter scale were felt in Amreli on Sunday around 5.16 pm, according to reports. No injuries or damage to the properties were reported due to the earthquake.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 16 km away from Gujarat's Dhari and 42 km away from Amreli.
According to reports, the residents came out running due to the tremors in many areas of Amreli city, Savarkundla, Rajula, and Khambha.
Tremors were felt in three districts of Gujarat — Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Rajkot.
Senior seismologist Santoshkumar said that there was no loss of life or any damage. Earthquakes have many causes. There is a possibility that the earthquake may have occurred due to heavy rains. Also, an earthquake may have occurred due to a section being active. There may still be aftershocks. No damage of this magnitude is likely.
