Drunk driver runs over Activa rider in Sardarnagar, arrested

A man riding an Activa was injured after a car ran over him in Sardarnagar on Monday, police said. The Traffic G Division of Ahmedabad City Police has arrested the driver, who was allegedly under the influence at the time of the accident.

According to officials, the incident occurred when the car, driven by 28-year-old Suraj Gavle, collided with Karan Makwana, who was riding his Activa. The vehicle reportedly ran over the two-wheeler, causing injuries to Makwana.

Police registered a case and have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. “The driver was found to be intoxicated. Legal action has been initiated under relevant sections of the law,” said a Traffic G Division officer.

Makwana was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have urged motorists to avoid reckless driving, particularly under the influence of alcohol, to prevent such incidents.
