A high-end BMW crashed into the BRTS corridor divider on Jodhpur Road in Ahmedabad on Sunday night, after its driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, lost control of the vehicle. The incident, which occurred around 8.15 pm near Satellite Star Bazaar three roads, caused a 20-minute traffic jam.  

The driver, identified as Rajinikanth Omkarmal Aggarwal, was found in an inebriated state and was booked under BNS Act Section 281, Motor Vehicles Act Section 185, and Prohibition Act Section 66(1)(B). The collision, which was captured on CCTV, provided crucial evidence to the police.  

The ‘N’ Division Traffic Police registered the case, and legal proceedings have been initiated against Aggarwal.  

While no injuries were reported, the incident underscores the persistent issue of drink-driving in the city. Authorities have urged citizens to adhere to traffic regulations and avoid reckless driving to prevent such mishaps.
