The crackdown on drug trafficking in coastal areas of Gujarat has led to the seizure of narcotics worth ₹1,115 crore in one year.

In a major anti-drug operation conducted between June 2023 and February 2024, authorities seized large quantities of heroin, cocaine, and charas, mostly from Gujarat’s coastal areas.

Despite these drugs seizures, many of the accused remain elusive, indicating the strength of the drug smuggling network.

Since June 2023, drugs worth ₹74 crores have been seized and destroyed. Authorities have filed multiple FIRs against drug traffickers for possessing and distributing narcotics.

The Gujarat Police and central agencies are working together to curb international drug smuggling networks. Reports suggest that a total of ₹200 crores worth of drugs have been seized in multiple raids across the state.

A breakthrough in the case came when a suspect was caught from an African country in connection with the drug smuggling operations. Police sources confirm that this arrest may lead to the identification of key masterminds behind these illicit activities.
