Drug supplier nabbed with MD drugs and charas in University area

Acting on a tip-off, the Special Operation Group (SOG) caught a man selling drugs near Gujarat University on Mar 21.

SOG police inspector (PI) FN Belim along with his team were patrolling near AG High School in Ahmedabad when they received a lead about a man selling drugs near the Gujarat University AMTS bus stand.

In a swift action, SOG raided the location and caught Vaseemkhan Pathan, a resident of Khanpur. On checking his belongings, five packets of charas (cannabis concentrate) and MD drug (Mephedrone, also known as methylmethcathinone or ecstasy) were found.

The drugs were traced back to Anand railway station from where a Khanpur-based person Moeen got the drugs through an individual named Rakib.

According to the police, Pathan was supplying drugs to youth and students in Gujarat University area.

The police have started further investigation in this regard. Sources hint that here is a possibility of a bigger drug supply in the area.
