Doctor alleges iPhone theft after minor collision near Ahmedabad airport circle

A 65-year-old doctor from Ahmedabad has filed a police complaint alleging that unidentified persons stole her iPhone worth ₹84,000 following a minor road accident near Hansol Talawadi on Sunday evening.
Dr Deepaben Joshi, a resident of Koteshwar-Bhat Road, stated in his complaint to airport police that the incident took place on May 17 while she was returning home after work.
Joshi, who works as a doctor with Torrent Pharmaceuticals in Bhat, told police that she had gone to Hansol for personal work and was driving her Honda Brio car towards Airport Circle around 6 pm when a Hyundai car carrying three men and a young boy allegedly brushed against her vehicle from the left side.
She alleged that the occupants of the Hyundai then stopped their car ahead of her vehicle and asked her to pull over. According to the complaint, one of the men stepped out and began shouting at her in Hindi, demanding money for the alleged damage to their vehicle.
Joshi told police that she objected, saying her own car had also suffered damage, and threatened to call the police. Following this, the group allegedly left the spot in their vehicle.
Soon afterwards, Joshi realised that her iPhone 15, which had been placed on the seat inside her car near the open left-side window, was missing. The phone reportedly contained an Airtel SIM card.
She subsequently informed her husband and later approached the police, suspecting that the unidentified persons had stolen the mobile phone during the commotion following the collision.
Airport police have registered a case of theft against unknown persons and initiated an investigation. Officials said efforts are under way to identify the suspects and trace the stolen mobile phone.
