Deodar: Woman, two kids, and youth jump into Narmada canal, all dead

An incident occurred near Goda village in Deodar taluka, where a woman along with her two children and another man jumped into the Narmada Canal on Thursday. Local swimmers managed to recover the bodies, and police have registered a case of accidental death.

The deceased have been identified as Priyanka Mahesh Prajapati, her children Mit (4) and Mayank (6), and a youth named Lalit Dalsukhbhai Prajapati.

According to reports, Priyanka had come from Gandhidham to her parental home in Gadhada village, Santlupur taluka, to meet her family on the occasion of the Janmashtami festival. 

On Thursday, she left her house accompanied by Lalit Prajapati, who resided in Gandhidham went with her two children to the Narmada Canal near Goda village in Deodar, where all four jumped into the water.

Lalit Prajapati, originally from Varsada village, was married and had four daughters. 

On Friday, Deodar police were informed that four bodies were seen floating in the canal. The police team rushed to the spot, and with the help of local swimmers, managed to recover all four bodies.

Deodar police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and further investigation is underway.
