Dense fog disrupts operations at Ahmedabad airport as 15 flights delayed

Severe cold and dense fog have tightened their grip across many parts of the country,. Flight operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad were badly affected early this morning due to extremely low visibility.
As a result, around 15 flights were delayed for several hours, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport and adding to their inconvenience. A thick blanket of fog covered the airport and nearby areas during the early hours, significantly reducing visibility. Pilots faced major challenges during take-off and landing, prompting Air Traffic Control (ATC) to temporarily halt flight operations in the interest of safety.
The sudden disruption led to long queues inside the terminal. Many passengers, after waiting for hours, expressed frustration and anger toward airline authorities over the delays. In view of the worsening weather conditions, major airlines issued travel advisories through official statements and social media:
IndiGo stated that dense fog in Delhi and surrounding regions has also impacted flights operating to and from Ahmedabad. The airline warned that some services may face further delays or cancellations during the day.
Air India urged passengers to check their flight status online before leaving for the airport to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. Due to reduced road visibility and slow traffic conditions, passengers were advised to leave home earlier than usual to reach the airport on time. The weather disruption is not limited to Ahmedabad. Airports in Delhi, Jaipur, and Lucknow are also experiencing delays due to fog. This has caused additional trouble for passengers with connecting flights, making the journey mentally and physically exhausting for many.
