A 35-year-old delivery man was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon near Lati Bazaar in the Pathan’s Chali area of Ahmedabad on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, identified as Ketan Gohel alias Modi, sustained a grievous neck injury and was declared dead on arrival at L G Hospital, according to police and family members.

The incident occurred around 12.30 pm near Saurashtra Gate. The complainant stated that Ketan had returned home after delivering burgers and was walking towards the Bahuchar parlour, where his mother and friends were sitting, when the assailants allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, targeting his neck. Severely injured and unable to speak, Ketan was first noticed bleeding profusely by nearby friends and passersby.

“They tried to find a rickshaw, but when they couldn't, I called a 108 ambulance and rushed him to L G Hospital,” said Dharmendrabhai. Doctors at the hospital pronounced Ketan dead at 1.20 pm. The information was relayed to the family by Ronak Thakor and another friend Kevin Vora, both of whom were present during or immediately after the incident.
