Defeated BJP candidate allegedly threatens to stop water supply to Bharuch village

BJP candidate Shakil Khalid Ahmed Malek was defeated by AAP candidate Sohail Malek in the Kavi-2 seat of the Jambusar taluka panchayat elections, Bharuch, but instead of accepting the loss gracefully, he allegedly threatened the entire village to cut off the water supply.
In a viral photograph, Malek and his father Khalid Ahmed Malek were allegedly seen holding unsheathed swords. In one of the images, the BJP candidate was also seen wearing a party sash.
A message circulated along with the photographs allegedly warned villagers that the water supply would be stopped and asked anyone with objections to contact the sender directly.
The message reportedly stated that there would be “no water in the village” henceforth, triggering concern among residents.
Sources claimed that the water supply in Dehgam village had been disrupted since the day of vote counting, leading to speculation among villagers over whether the alleged threat had been acted upon.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion in the area, with opposition leaders and residents questioning the use of essential public services as a means of intimidation following an electoral defeat.
Local police officials said the viral photographs and messages were being examined. They added that strict action would be taken if any violation of law and order or threat to public welfare was found during the investigation.
