DCB arrests three for factory theft in Naroda, recovers stolen wire reels and vehicle

The Detection of Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested two persons and detained a juvenile in conflict with the law for allegedly breaking into a factory in Naroda and stealing copper and aluminium wire reels worth several lakhs of rupees.
According to officials, the theft took place between 9.30 pm on May 23 and 10.30 am on May 24 at Mahavir Enterprises, located in Vishwakarma Estate near Naroda Patiya. The accused allegedly broke the shutter lock of the factory and decamped with copper and aluminium wire reels weighing a total of 265 kilograms.
Police said the stolen property included 41 reels of copper wire weighing approximately 135 kg and valued at around ₹1.75 lakh, along with 65 reels of aluminium wire weighing approximately 130 kg valued at about ₹70,000. The total value of the stolen material was estimated at ₹2.45 lakh.
Following the registration of a case at Naroda police station, Crime Branch officers launched an investigation and traced the suspects on the Ahmedabad–Kathwada Road stretch near Dastan Farm.
The arrested accused have been identified as Parasmal Kaniram Gurjar, 33, currently residing in Naroda and originally from Rajasthan's Rajsamand district, and Mukesh Narayanlal Gurjar, 20, residing in Daskroi and originally from Rajasthan's Bhilwara district. A juvenile was also apprehended in connection with the offence.
During the operation, police recovered the stolen copper and aluminium wire reels, a gas cutter, an oxygen cylinder, two mobile phones and a Bolero pick-up vehicle allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
The seized property included copper wire reels worth ₹1.75 lakh, aluminium wire reels worth ₹71,500, a gas cutter and oxygen cylinder valued at ₹10,000, two mobile phones worth ₹50,000 and a Bolero pick-up vehicle valued at ₹8 lakh. The total value of the recovered property was estimated at ₹11.07 lakh.
The accused have been handed over to Naroda police for further investigation. A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, pertaining to house-breaking and theft.
Police officials said efforts are under way to determine whether the accused were involved in similar property offences reported in other parts of the city.
