The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken strict disciplinary action against three taluka panchayat members in Dahod district, suspending them from the party's primary membership and all responsibilities for six years.

The action was taken after the members allegedly disobeyed the party's official whip during the election of taluka panchayat president and vice president held on May 25, 2026.

According to an official suspension letter issued by Dahod District President Rakesh Baria, the three members were elected on AAP tickets in the recent local self-government elections. However, during the important election process for the president and vice president posts, they remained absent despite clear instructions from the party leadership. The party described their absence as a violation of discipline and an act against the organisation's interests.

AAP leaders said that the members actions caused serious damage to the party's image and credibility in the district. The party also said that their conduct hurt the sentiments of office-bearers, workers, and supporters who had worked hard during the local body elections. The leadership viewed the incident as a serious case of anti-party activity and indiscipline.

The suspension was carried out on the instructions of Gujarat AAP President Yesudabhai Gadhvi. The order states that the three members will remain suspended from the party's primary membership and all official responsibilities for the next six years. The decision reflects the party's zero tolerance policy towards members who fail to follow official directions.

Suspended members

The suspended members are Dineshbhai Raisingbhai Bilwal, elected from seat no. 11 (Jalat) in Dahod taluka panchayat, Kapilaben Sunilbhai Mavi, elected from seat no. 31 (Ratia) in Dahod taluka panchayat, and Ambaben Ishwarbhai Charpot, elected from seat no. 12 (Mota Natwa) in Sukhsar taluka panchayat. All three were elected on the AAP mandate in the recent elections.

In a special note included in the suspension letter, the district president directed party officials to immediately remove the suspended members from all official party WhatsApp groups at the taluka and district levels. A copy of the disciplinary order has also been sent to the Aam Aadmi Party's state headquarters in Ahmedabad to officially inform the party leadership about the action taken against the three members.
