CS exam results announced, Ahmedabad shines in toppers’ list

In yet another national competitive examination, company secretary (CS), three students from Gujarat’s Ahmedabad have secured their places in the top 10 rankers.
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) released the results of executive and professional courses.
Ahmedabad’s Virati Shah has ranked third, and Twinkle Gajjar has ranked seventh on the list of 25 nationwide toppers.
Ahmedabad’s result
The city’s result in professional programmes stands at 23.86%, 19.90%, and 25.56% in modules I, II, and III, respectively.
With this, it was announced that a new centre for CS will be established in GIFT City. Students will also be able to study in Gandhinagar’s chapter centre. Moreover, a new committee will be formed for the Gandhinagar centre, and student registrations will also be undertaken by the Gandhinagar centre.
All-India result
Maalolan Murali from Chennai has secured the all-India first rank in the executive programme (syllabus 2017) examination.
Moreover, Vanisha Singh from Mumbai has secured the top position in the executive programme (syllabus 2022) examination.
Manisha Ghosh from Mumbai stood in the first position in the professional programme examination.
In the executive programme (syllabus 2017), 15.63% of candidates passed in modules I and 11.47% in module II.
In the executive programme (syllabus 22), 6.92% of candidates passed in group I and 7.40% in group II.
In professional programmes, the country's result is 20.11% in module I, 20.74% in module II, and 21.96% in module III.
What are CS examinations?
Holding a similar craze as chartered accountant examinations, students desiring to become company secretaries first appear for the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) and move on to the next stage, the executive programme.
They progress to the final professional programme after passing exams in various modules.
The CS programme curriculum changes every five years; with a new curriculum implemented in 2022, the exams for the executive programme’s new syllabus were held in December 2023.
The next examinations of the company secretaries professional programme (syllabus 2017 and syllabus 2022) and executive programme (syllabus 2017 and syllabus 2022) will be held from June 1, 2024, to June 10, 2024.
