Couple running Jagatpur-based visa consultancy accused of cheating 14 people of ₹72 lakh

Chandkheda police have registered an FIR against a couple for allegedly cheating 14 people of ₹72.45 lakh on the pretext of providing overseas jobs and visas.
The accused, Dr Urjit Satchit Kavi and his wife, Harshida, residents of Godrej Garden City in Ahmedabad’s Jagatpur, had opened an office named The Career Professionals (TCP Corps).
The complaint was filed by Bhargeshbhai Gautambhai Patel, a resident of Sola, who is a former co-worker of the accused. Bhargeshbhai suggested his multiple acquaintances and relatives about the consultancy, but ended up being defrauded.
According to the FIR, the couple promised jobs and permanent residency opportunities in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK within 6 to 8 months. They allegedly collected money from 14 individuals through cash and cheques for visa processing, job placement, and related expenses.
The complaints stated that the accused sent alleged job offer letters, sponsorship documents, IELTS, and other documents via WhatsApp to gain trust. However, neither jobs nor visas were arranged within the promised timeframe. When confronted, the couple reportedly issued six cheques, which later bounced.
After repeated delays and failure to refund the money, a formal complaint was lodged. Police have begun an investigation into the fraud.
