Couple held hostage during midnight robbery in Dholka, valuables worth ₹2.1 lakh stolen

A robbery in Koth village of Ahmedabad district’s Dholka taluka has created fear among local residents. Four unidentified robbers entered a house late at night, held a couple hostage and escaped with cash, jewellery, and mobile phones worth around ₹2.1lakh.
According to police, the robbers targeted the house of Sanjay Singh Rathod. They allegedly threatened Sanjay Singh and his wife by holding a knife to their throats and warned them not to resist. The couple was scared and could not stop the robbers.
The robbers searched the house and stole gold and silver jewellery, ₹90,000 in cash, and three expensive mobile phones, including an iPhone. The total value of the stolen items was around ₹2,10,500. After the robbery they tied the couple with a saree so they could not immediately call for help.
The robbers also damaged the CCTV cameras installed at the house, to destroy evidence and avoid being identified.
After the incident, the victim filed a complaint at Koth police station. Senior police officials, along with teams from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Special Operations Group (SOG), reached the spot and started an investigation.
Police have registered a case and formed special teams to trace and arrest the four robbers. The investigation is currently underway.
