Couple found dead in Ahmedabad registered car’s backseat at Pavagadh

The bodies of a young man and a woman were found in the back seat of an SUV parked near the parking area on the foothills of Pavagadh, a pilgrimage site in Panchmahal district of Gujarat.

According to reports, the SUV with an Ahmedabad East (GJ 27) registration had been parked for over 24 hours near the road leading to the Machi area, in front of the bus stand at the base of Pavagadh. Local residents noticed the vehicle with the engine and AC running and saw a young man and woman seated in the back seat.

When the car remained in the same spot the next day, suspicions grew, and as word spread rapidly, a crowd gathered around. Pavagadh police were informed and they reached the spot. As there was no movement from the couple inside, suspicion intensified. A technical expert was called in to unlock the car door, and the young man and woman were found dead.

Police sent the bodies to Halol Referral Hospital for post-mortem and began efforts to identify the deceased. Preliminary reports suggest the duo was from Akodra village in Himmatnagar. However, their exact identities had not been confirmed. The police have launched a further investigation based on the vehicle’s registration number.
