Contractor hospitalised after worker assaults him over salary dispute in Narol

A 30-year-old contractor was hospitalised after he was allegedly assaulted with wooden sticks and stones by a worker over a salary dispute in Ahmedabad’s Narol area late on Friday night.
As per the FIR lodged at Narol police station, the complainant, identified as Surendrasinh Bhagwansinh Kutchhi, a resident of Narol, had been working as a labour contractor with Vinod Company in Piplaj for the past one-and-a-half years.
On the night of October 17, 2025, around 10.30 pm, Surendrasinh went to a bike washing centre near Shivnagar tri junction, where the accused Manoj Jagdishbhai Parmar, who had been working under him for six months, was already present along with a few others.
During which Manoj demanded his pending salary. Surendrasinh told him to visit the Vinod Company the next day to collect it. However, Manoj became agitated, started hurling abuses and attacked him with a wooden stick lying nearby.
Surendrasinh further alleged that the accused then picked up a stone from the roadside and hit him on his head, causing him to bleed. A crowd gathered at the spot, following which the accused fled.
Bystanders called the 108 emergency ambulance service, which rushed Surendrasinh to LG Hospital, where doctors administered two stitches to his head wound. The complainant was conscious and later gave his statement to the police from the hospital’s emergency ward.
He also claimed that Manoj had hit him on the face with a baton during the altercation.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) pertaining to assault and causing hurt. Further investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and arrest the accused.
