Conditions apply: AAP MLA Umesh Makwana to join BJP?
After Bhupendra Bhayani, one more AAP MLA, did Umesh Makwana express an interest in joining the BJP?
As the Lok Sabha elections are approaching, the winds of change have hit Gujarat’s political circles. It seems that the Aam Aadmi Party’s ship is likely to sink before it sails into the BJP’s fortress in Gujarat.
After Bhupendra Bhayani, one more AAP MLA, Umesh Makwana, expressed an interest in joining the BJP, but only if his ‘conditions’ were met.
An AAP MLA from Botad, Makwana, said on Dec 19 that he, along with his counterparts, are ready to join the BJP if the ruling party will waive off farmers’ debts.
He accused the ruling party of allegedly threatening MLAs to join them. Hitting back at the government, he said that the BJP is not thinking of providing proper education and health.
He concluded by saying that if the BJP is ready to cater to the public and provide a waiver to farmers, he, along with his counterparts, will join the BJP.
Earlier, Makwana had written to prime minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Bhupendra Patel, requesting an anti-corruption probe against himself.
However, he said that it has been more than 15 days since he requested the probe, but no major actions were taken.
He also emphasised that a probe should be launched against other MLAs, IAS, and IPS as well.
