The newly elected wing of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) held its first weekly meeting, where senior officials discussed key civic issues, including water contamination and monsoon preparedness.
Standing Committee Chairman Kamlesh Patel directed officials to complete the filling of all potholes at least one week before the onset of the monsoon. He also instructed them to avoid digging new potholes after 15 June to maintain road quality.
To accelerate traffic management and pressure relief operations, the AMC has decided to hire a crane for six months at a cost of ₹1.25 crore. This move is expected to improve the efficiency of clearing obstacles and handling emergencies on city roads
He also addressed the recent contaminated water incident in the Ghatlodia area, assuring residents that the AMC would significantly increase surveillance in high-risk zones across the city to prevent similar occurrences.
