A complaint has been submitted to the Commissioner of Police, Ahmedabad, alleging negligence by the police inspector of Sarkhej Police Station for allegedly refusing to register a complaint against Ishwaranand Bharati, also known as Eka bapu, in connection with allegations of sexual exploitation.

The complaint was filed by a social worker, who accused Sarkhej Police Inspector LL Chavda of failing to take action despite the complainant allegedly presenting evidence, including videos, related to the case.

The controversy follows allegations that Eka bapu, associated with the Bharati Ashram, had sexually exploited a young man.

According to the complaint submitted to the police commissioner, the alleged victim visited Sarkhej Police Station on May 22 along with evidence related to the accusations.

The complaint claimed police personnel recorded the victim’s statement for nearly three hours after reportedly viewing videos allegedly linked to the matter.

However, the social worker alleged that after initially directing officials to record the statement, PI Chavda later refused to register a formal complaint.

The complaint further alleged that the officer’s conduct amounted to “criminal negligence” and directly helped protect the accused and the ashram administration.

It also claimed that the refusal to file an FIR had demoralised the alleged victim and could discourage other possible victims from coming forward.

According to the social worker, had the complaint been officially registered, additional victims may have gained confidence to reveal further allegations.

The complainant has demanded strict action against PI Chavda for alleged negligence and dereliction of duty.

The social worker also warned that if no action is taken, the matter may be taken to the Gujarat High Court.
