Collision of trucks leads to 5-km traffic jam on Ahmedabad-Mumbai Highway

Heavy rain across Gujarat has led to deterioration of roads, which has contributed to a rise in accidents. On Sunday morning, a collision between two trucks on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai National Highway caused a massive traffic jam stretching up to 5 kilometres.

According to reports, the incident led to a major traffic disruption on the highway, as the two truck drivers began arguing after the collision. Officials from the highways authority intervened and managed to calm the situation. Due to the jam that lasted for nearly two hours, a long queue of vehicles stretching up to 5 km was seen on the road.

As per an earlier report in the Indian Express, a deadlock was witnessed this week on Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway which began late on Wednesday night. Traffic was seen from Golden Chokdi to Por near Vadodara. As a result, travellers going to Ahmedabad from Mumbai found themselves stranded for hours on Thursday due to a traffic jam of over 15 km that lasted for more than 24 hours, as per reports.
