Class 10 student stabbed outside school in Khokhra, police probe rivalry angle

A 15-year-old Class 10 student of a Khokhra school was allegedly stabbed by fellow students outside the premises on Tuesday afternoon, in what police suspect was a fallout of an earlier altercation. The injured boy has been admitted to a private hospital where his condition is said to be critical.

According to police, the incident took place after school hours outside Seventh Day Adventist School in Khokhra. The victim was reportedly accosted by a group of seven to eight teenagers, including some students of the same school. During the scuffle, one of them allegedly stabbed him in the abdomen.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Krunal Desai said preliminary inquiry revealed that the injured student had an argument and physical scuffle a few days ago with a Class 8 student of the same school. “Holding on to that grudge, the Class 8 student, along with others, confronted him after school and stabbed him,” Desai said.

Following the attack, the boy was rushed to hospital by locals. Police reached the spot and have registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused students.

Khokhra Police Inspector N M Panchal said CCTV footage from the area is being examined to establish the sequence of events and identify all those involved. “We are investigating who exactly attacked the boy and the role of each student in the incident,” he said.

Police teams have rounded up several students and further investigation is underway.
