Clash between two groups in Kheda leaves seven injured in stone pelting
On Friday evening, a clash broke out between two groups in Salun village, Thasra taluka of Kheda district, due to an unspecified issue between two communities in the village.
The incident led to stone pelting, prompting the police to rush to the scene. Nadiad Rural Police have registered cross-complaints and initiated legal proceedings.
A complaint filed by Vishal Makwana of Salun village stated that he had gone to Sanjay Talpada’s shop near the Salun bus stand to buy tobacco in the evening.
Holding a grudge over a previous dispute, Sanjay verbally abused him and used caste-based slurs. Soon, a group of around 15 people armed with wooden sticks, bricks, and iron pipes attacked Makwana and his friends, engaging in a physical assault and pelting stones, resulting in injuries to five people. Following this, Makwana lodged a complaint at the Nadiad Rural police station.
On the other hand, in a counter-complaint filed by Pravinbhai Talpada, he mentioned that his nephew Sanjay owns a shop near the bus stand. The previous evening, some people in a car kept honking continuously and demanded a cigarette packet.
However, since the shop was crowded with customers, Sanjay asked them to come inside to make their purchase. This angered the people in the car, who then verbally abused Sanjay. Later, the same group returned with reinforcements and attacked shopkeeper Sanjay, his relative Satish, and Vinod. They also pelted stones, causing injuries to three people.
Based on Pravin’s complaint, Nadiad Rural Police have registered an FIR against eight individuals and a group of 15–20 unidentified persons. The police have filed cross-complaints and are carrying out legal proceedings.
