CID arrests Mehsana Urban Bank CEO in ₹64 crore loan fraud case

Mehsana Urban Cooperative Bank CEO Vinod Patel has been arrested by CID Crime in connection with a ₹64 crore loan scam. Officials confirmed that he is currently being interrogated.

The case pertains to loans sanctioned between 2016 and 2023 in the names of Bageshree Infra and Om Infra, companies linked to accused Bijal Mehta and his wife Aman Mehta. Patel, during his tenure as CEO, allegedly abused his position to extend these loans in collusion with Mehta.

Investigators allege that the loans were disbursed in clear violation of RBI guidelines and banking norms. Earlier, Gandhidham branch manager PT Patel was also arrested in the same case.
