A tantric named Lala Tadvi who had killed a 5-year-old in an alleged sacrificial ritual was caught while trying to abduct another child was caught in Chhotaudepur district of Gujarat on Monday.

The villagers, suspicious of the tantric's activities, called the police and sent him behind bars. The police have registered a case of murder and are conducting further investigation.

The incident took place in Panej village of Bodeli in Chhotaudepur. The tantric had abducted a 5-year-old girl from the village and took her to a temple built in his hut. The tantric then allegedly slit her throat with an axe for the ritual, as per reports.

However, he did not stop there and tried to abduct another child. The locals suspecting foul play called the local police and saved the child’s life.

The 5-year-old's body was sent for the post-mortem examination. The police arrested the tantric and registered a case of murder.
