Central agencies conduct search at IPS officer Ravindra Patel’s native in Sabarkantha
In a significant development, central investigation agencies launched search operations early Thursday morning at the native village of IPS officer Ravindra Patel in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. The operation, reportedly spearheaded by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), has stirred political and administrative circles.
Sources confirmed that the search commenced at Rodhra village of Khedbrahma taluka, the native place of 2016-batch IPS officer Ravindra Patel. His father, retired IG rank IPS officer D N Patel, his wife, and his brother-in-law are reportedly under questioning regarding financial transactions and property-related matters.
Simultaneously, central teams also carried out investigations at Galodia village, where Patel’s brother-in-law resides. According to sources, the inquiry focuses on large-scale monetary dealings and assets connected to the family.
Ravindra Patel, currently serving in a senior position in the Gujarat police, hails from an influential family with deep-rooted connections in the police force. His father, D N Patel, is a well-known retired IPS officer.
As the operation continued throughout the day, the strong presence of central teams had created a sense of unrest among locals.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement, but sources indicate that the inquiry may widen in the coming days, depending on the findings from the current search and interrogation.
Further details are awaited as the investigation is still underway.
