As of May 30, 2026, more than 3.74 lakh citizens in Gujarat had registered through the self-enumeration process. Of these, over 3.30 lakh forms have been successfully completed, while around 44,000 applications remain under process.
The Census exercise will cover all districts, municipal corporations, municipalities and villages across Gujarat. A total of 1,10,598 House Listing Blocks (HLBs) have been identified for the operation.
The exercise will be carried out by 1,09,038 enumerators and monitored by 18,254 supervisors. To ensure smooth implementation, enumerators, supervisors and other Census officials have undergone specialised training in three phases.
Citizens were given the option to submit their details independently through the Self-Enumeration portal between May 17 and May 31, 2026. Those who complete the process online will not require a visit from an enumerator.

The data cannot be used for legal proceedings, taxation or any other administrative action. Officials have also clarified that every citizen is legally obligated to provide accurate and complete information, and refusal to furnish details may attract penalties under the law.
