CCTVs installed on SG highway, Ahmedabad, were not functioning on the night of the accident!
Authorities ordered installation of CCTV cameras on 84 bridges in Ahmedabad
High tech instruments to monitor speed of vehicles and CCTV cameras seem to be missing on roads of Ahmedabad

Tathya Patel’s speeding car killed nine innocent people on the ISKCON bridge on July 20. Unfortunately, the high-tech CCTV cameras installed on the SG highway a year ago were non-functional. Ahmedabad, being a metropolis, lacks proper lighting on its roads, too. These shortfalls are the cause of the constant accidents that keep on happening in Ahmedabad.
Authorities to install CCTV cameras on 84 bridges in Ahmedabad
The municipal standing committee had arranged a meeting following the ISKCON bridge accident. The authorities found that there is not a single CCTV camera on 84 bridges in Ahmedabad.
The officials of the municipal corporation were asked to install CCTV cameras on all these bridges by the standing committee. CCTV cameras may be installed on the SG highway too, if funds for the same are received by the state government.
The chairman of the standing committee said that if there is no provision to quickly install cameras on all bridges, then the cameras will be installed from the zero budget.
