CBSE to conduct capacity-building programmes for Gujarat teachers from Jan 27

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will organise capacity-building programmes for teachers across Gujarat from January 27 to February 12, 2026, in collaboration with Sahodaya School Complexes in the state.
The programmes are aimed at supporting the implementation of skill education for students of Classes 6 to 8 through the Kaushal Bodh activity books developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
The initiative seeks to equip teachers with the skills required to effectively integrate vocational education into classroom teaching.
According to the schedule released by the board, the training sessions will be held on January 27, 29 and 30, and on February 4, 5 and 12, 2026.
CBSE stated that the initiative is consistent with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with an emphasis on continuous professional development, skill-based learning, and the integration of vocational education with mainstream subjects under the “no hard separation” approach.
The board also clarified that certificates issued by its Department of Skill Education for these programmes would be considered valid for fulfilling mandatory teacher training requirements, subject to schools maintaining proper records.
CBSE has already conducted similar capacity-building programmes in several states and regions, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, New Delhi, Tripura, West Bengal and Ghaziabad. Teachers and schools in Gujarat can access the detailed schedule and related information on the official CBSE website.
