Updated: Sep 8th, 2024

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against five individuals involved in the NEET exam scandal in Godhra. The accused Tushar Bhatt, Parsuram Roy, Arif Vora, Vibhor Anand, and Parshotam Sharma are alleged to have participated in cheating during the NEET exam at the Jay Jalaram School centre.

The scandal came to light after the local police initially filed a case and the investigation was subsequently transferred to the CBI. Following the arrest of the five accused, Dikshit Patel, the director of Jay Jalaram School, was also apprehended. However, a chargesheet against Patel is still pending.

On September 6 , the CBI filed the chargesheet in the CBI’s Special Court. The court provided digital copies of the chargesheet, ranging from 3,500 to 8,000 pages, to the accused on pen drives.

In an effort to strengthen the case and gather additional evidence, the CBI team has intensified its efforts in Godhra. A six-member team has arrived at the Circuit House to record statements from remaining witnesses.

The NEET exam scandal has raised serious concerns about the integrity of the examination process and the potential for cheating. The CBI’s investigation and subsequent charge sheet are crucial steps in addressing the issue and ensuring that those involved in the fraud are held accountable.
