According to Satellite police, the theft took place at a house in Manekbaug Society, behind Manekbaug Hall between the evening of April 24 and the night of April 29.

Urvash Nareshbhai Shah, 57, a businessman and resident of the same locality, told police that his 82-year-old mother-in-law, Samyuktaben Sharadbhai Shah, who lives alone next door, had locked her house on April 24 and gone to stay with her daughter in Prahladnagar.

When she returned home on April 29, she allegedly found signs that her bedroom had been disturbed, with a medicine box lying open on the bed and cupboard keys displaced. On checking the cupboards along with family members, they discovered that valuables kept inside were missing.
