Car overturns after mounting divider on Gota bridge, couple and child escape unhurt

In a narrow escape late on Monday evening, a car carrying a couple and their child overturned after mounting the divider on Gota bridge in Ahmedabad. Fortunately, all three occupants were rescued safely by local residents.
According to police sources, the incident occurred when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating the bridge. The car climbed onto the central divider and turned turtle, causing panic among other commuters.
Eyewitnesses said that locals rushed to the spot and helped the trapped occupants come out of the overturned car. “It was a miracle that none of them suffered serious injuries,” said a witness from the area.
Following the accident, traffic movement on the bridge was disrupted, leading to a brief jam as vehicles slowed down to avoid the damaged car. Police reached the spot soon after being alerted and arranged to tow the vehicle away to clear the route.
Officials from the traffic police said preliminary inquiries suggest that speed and sudden swerving may have caused the accident. No formal complaint has been lodged, as no casualties or major damage were reported.
