Car mounts divider near Parimal Garden in Ahmedabad, damages pole

A car driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a road divider near Parimal Garden on Friday, damaging public property and triggering brief disruption in traffic, police said.

According to officials, the incident occurred on a busy stretch near the garden, when the car veered off course and climbed onto the central divider. The impact left the vehicle’s bonnet severely damaged, while a streetlight pole installed on the divider was uprooted and fell onto the road.

No casualties were reported in the incident. However, the accident caused momentary panic among commuters and led to congestion in the area until the damaged vehicle was removed and the debris cleared.

Police said preliminary inquiry suggests that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, though the exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Officials are examining whether overspeeding or negligence played a role.

Civic authorities were later informed, and teams were deployed to clear the damaged pole and restore normal traffic movement.

Further investigation is underway, police added.
