The Standing Committee of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation has approved two new attractions at the Kankaria Lakefront, including a technology-based musical fountain and a children’s theme park titled ‘Candy World’ in Ahmedabad.

Fountain show

According to officials, the multimedia light and music fountain will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹5.53 crore. The show will feature synchronised water jets, music, lighting and visual projections, and will present four different themed performances of 15 minutes each after 7 pm daily.

Standing Committee Chairman Devang Dani said the project includes a four-year operation and maintenance contract along with a one-year defect liability period.

In a separate decision, the committee cleared the development of ‘Candy World’ worth ₹15 crore on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis. The project is expected to be completed within a year.

The civic body will allocate around 4,133 square metres of space for the theme-based park, while the selected agency will develop and operate the facility. Apart from a fixed base rent, the corporation will receive a 35% share of the revenue generated by the operator. Officials said the annual rental income is worth ₹7.72 lakh.

The entry fee for Candy World is proposed to be around ₹40, while tickets for individual attractions are likely to range between ₹50 and ₹100.

The park will feature a grand entrance plaza, chocolate monument, themed photography zones, bubble play area, games zone and themed food kiosks. Other attractions will include a rope playground inspired by the Milky Way Galaxy, a rainbow slide, immersive dark rides, a neon pickleball court and other amusement rides.
