Businessman’s drunk son creates ruckus at Satellite Police Station, smashes bottle on constable’s head

A 25-year-old man, who was brought to Satellite Police Station for creating a nuisance under the influence of alcohol, attacked a police constable with a glass bottle late on Monday night.

According to police, the surveillance squad detained Akshil Dineshbhai Jaysinghani, son of a businessman and resident of Revati Tower in Satellite area of Ahmedabad, around 1.30 am for shouting and misbehaving on the road in a drunken state. He was taken to the station for legal action.

Around 2.20 am, in a fit of rage, Akshil grabbed a glass bottle lying near the complaint room window and struck Constable Vipulsinh Dolubha on the head, causing injury and bleeding. Shouting that the complaint against him was unfair, he attempted to resist but was quickly overpowered by other staff.

The injured constable was given medical treatment. Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged against Akshil on prohibition charges and  for assaulting an on-duty police officer.
