Multi-vehicular crash in Surat as bus driver rams eight vehicles

A luxury bus near Surat’s Kamrej toll plaza hit as many as eight vehicles today, injuring a number of people. Two people are suspected to have died in the horrific accident.

The onlookers handed over the bus driver to the police, who arrived at the scene later.

Sources suggest that the bus driver of Kanaiya Travels, was under the influence of alcohol while driving. Overspeeding at the time of the accident, he rammed into eight vehicles including cars, motorcycles, and rickshaws.

The police have initiated a probe into the matter. More details on this are awaited.
