Bus catches fire on Nadiad-Anand road, all passengers evacuated safely

A  private luxury bus caught fire late Tuesday night on the Nadiad-Anand road near the Bhumel railway overbridge. Fortunately, all 20-25 passengers onboard were evacuated safely thanks to the alertness of the bus driver, and no casualties were reported.

The private bus, traveling from Pavagadh to Bavla, suddenly emitted smoke which quickly escalated into a major blaze, creating panic among passengers and nearby commuters. The driver immediately stopped the vehicle and guided everyone out before the fire spread further.

Firefighters arrived promptly and managed to control the blaze, but the bus was completely destroyed. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Authorities praised the quick thinking of the driver, which prevented potential loss of life, contrasting sharply with the Jaisalmer bus tragedy, where 20 passengers died when a similar fire engulfed a sleeper bus on the highway the previous day.

Investigation teams are examining the vehicle to determine the reason behind the fire.
