Burglars break into 3 flats in Ahmedabad when residents away in Diwali

A series of burglaries rocked Shrifal Apartment in Gota, Ahmedabad, when residents were away during Diwali. Unidentified thieves gained entry into three flats by removing bathroom glass panels and made away with cash and jewellery worth around ₹9 lakh. Sola police have registered three separate complaints and launched an investigation.
According to police, two of the incidents occurred between October 18 and 26 at Shrifal Apartment, located opposite Osia Mall in Gota. Arvindbhai Naranbhai Patel, owner of a paver block factory, and his neighbour Pintubhai Laljibhai Chaudhary reported theft of valuables worth ₹7.29 lakh.
In his complaint, Arvindbhai stated that he and his family had locked their home and travelled to their native village, Jaspur in Gandhinagar, on October 21 for Diwali.
When they returned on October 26 morning, they discovered that burglars had removed the glass from the common bathroom door and broken into the house, stealing ₹96,000 in cash and gold jewellery worth ₹6.10 lakh from a wooden cupboard.
Similarly, burglars entered Pintubhai Chaudhary’s house in the same manner between October 18 and 24 and escaped with gold ornaments.
In a third incident, Chetanbhai Rasikbhai Patel, a two-wheeler showroom manager residing in flat number B-2-302 of the same apartment, reported that his wife Premilaben noticed on the afternoon of October 24 that ₹15,000 in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth ₹1.65 lakh had been stolen from a bedroom cupboard.
Police suspect the same gang could be involved in all three incidents and are reviewing CCTV footage from the apartment premises and nearby areas.
