Two people were injured in a firing incident in Patwa Sheri, Ahmedabad, after an altercation broke out between business associates late on the night of July 11.

Of the two injured, one was a pedestrian, Auzef Kagdi, and the other was a business associate, Nazirkhan Pathan. Pathan died on Saturday night while receiving treatment at SVP Hospital.

What was the incident?

The firing incident occurred during a heated confrontation over unsettled accounts between parties allegedly involved in the real estate sector. The accused, identified as Zahuruddin Kaburuddin Nagori, reportedly opened fire during the argument.

Both victims, the pedestrian and the builder were rushed to the hospital following the incident.

The accused, Nagori, fled the scene and disposed of the pistol in the river.

Soon after the incident, a team from Karanj police station had reached the spot and cordoned off the area with barricades. Forensic experts were called in, and CCTV footage from nearby establishments was reviewed as part of the investigation.

Following Pathan’s death during treatment, the Karanj police have now registered a case under sections related to murder.
