Bharuch's political reshuffle kicks off
As the Lok Sabha elections approach, the season of changes keeps up in Gujarat politics. The tribal circles of politics in Bharuch has buzzed up as notable names of the area joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
Now, Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP)’s Mahesh Vasava, and Congress’ Mahesh Patel have joined the BJP.
CR Patil witnessed the two leaders and their supporters joining the BJP with party caps at Kamalam in Gandhinagar today.
Mahesh Vasava is the national president of the Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) and a former MLA from Gujarat’s Dediapada, while Mahesh Patel is a former MLA from Palanpur with Congress.
Apart from these two, Sanjay Mori also joined the BJP.
Besides, Jagdish Patel, Balu Chotubhai Vasava, Kanu Vasava, Prince Makwana, Kanu Patel, Dinesh Patel, Gangaram Patel, Devasi Patel, Parth Vasava, Kokila Tadvi, Champak Vasava, Rameshi Vasava and AAP workers from Bharuch district also joined BJP.
Gujarat’s turncoat saga
Arjun Modhwadia and Ambarish Der from Gujarat Congress joined BJP this month.
Leaders including CJ Chavda, Arvind Ladani, and Mulu Kandoria have also resigned and joined the BJP.
BJP’s Lok Sabha 2024 campaign
It is worth mentioning that the BJP has announced the first list of 195 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. In which the names of 15 candidates out of a total of 26 seats in Gujarat have been announced, out of which 10 candidates have been repeated.
Then the second list may be announced by Mar 12, including the 11 remaining seats in Gujarat.
