Botad DySP’s car hits 5 people near Anand, 2 killed
A tragic road accident occurred early Thursday morning near Adas village in Anand district when a car driven by Botad Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) A A Sayed allegedly lost control and hit 5 people standing on the roadside. 2 people died on the spot, while 3 others suffered serious injuries. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital through the 108 ambulance service for urgent medical treatment.
The accident took place on the National Highway near Adas village. DySP Sayed was travelling from Vadodara towards Anand when his vehicle suddenly went out of control.
Witnesses said the speeding car suddenly moved towards the roadside and crashed into a group at a sugarcane juice stall. The force of the impact threw the victims onto the road and also damaged the stall.
Soon after receiving information about the accident, a team from Vasad Police Station reached the spot and began an investigation. Police officials inspected the accident site, collected evidence, and recorded statements from witnesses to determine the exact sequence of events.
Police officials have not yet confirmed the exact reason behind the accident. Further investigation and medical reports are expected to provide more clarity.
