Bopal customer alleges receiving non-vegetarian burger instead of veg order from McDonald’s outlet

A resident of Bopal has alleged that a vegetarian food order placed through an online delivery platform was incorrectly fulfilled with a non-vegetarian burger, triggering a dispute with the management of a McDonald’s outlet in the area.

According to the customer, the order was placed through a food delivery application for a vegetarian burger from the McDonald’s outlet in Bopal. However, upon receiving the order and opening the package, the customer allegedly discovered that a non-vegetarian burger had been delivered instead.

The customer subsequently visited the restaurant to raise the issue with the outlet management. However, the complainant alleged that the staff behaved rudely and failed to address the grievance satisfactorily. The customer further claimed that the outlet's representatives were reluctant to acknowledge the mistake despite being informed about the alleged mix-up.

It also remains unclear whether the customer has approached consumer protection authorities or food safety regulators regarding the matter.

Reacting to the incident, the fast food chain said, "Our kitchens follow strict segregation practices for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, with separate sections, dedicated equipment, and trained teams adhering to stringent hygiene standards. Our restaurant teams are also trained to engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, and we remain fully committed to upholding these standards across all our operations."

The incident has once again highlighted the importance of stringent quality-control measures and accurate order fulfilment in the rapidly growing online food delivery sector, where even minor errors can have significant implications for consumers with specific dietary preferences.
