Bomb threat triggers security scare at Sports Club near Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad

Panic gripped the upscale Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad after a threatening message claiming the presence of a bomb at a Sports Club near Sardar Patel Stadium was received on Monday.

Taking the threat seriously, the Navrangpura police immediately rushed to the spot and launched a security operation. The club premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and security was tightened in and around the area.

According to police, information about the bomb threat was received through a letter. The Sports Club is located near Sardar Patel Stadium in the jurisdiction of Naranpura Police Station.

Following the alert, teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squad and Fire Brigade reached the location within minutes. Security agencies began an intensive search operation across the club premises using metal detectors and other advanced equipment.

Officials said a thorough inspection of the entire premises is underway to rule out any threat. Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation to determine whether the message was a hoax or part of a larger conspiracy.

Technical surveillance teams are also working to trace the source of the threat and identify the person responsible. No suspicious object had been recovered at the time of filing this report.
