A series of threatening emails targeting government institutions in Gujarat continues. A bomb threat was sent via email to Amreli court on Monday claiming that the Amreli court judge’s chamber and the entire court premises would be blown up. The email, which mentioned 14 RDX bombs, created panic among police and security agencies.

According to reports, an unknown person sent the email, claiming that 14 bombs filled with RDX had been planted in the court premises and would be detonated. The message also referred to Ajmal Kasab and issues related to Tamil Nadu, stating, “What is the use of a court if it cannot deliver justice to innocent citizens?”

As soon as the threat was received, police teams rushed to the court premises.

Court proceedings were halted, and all lawyers, staff members, and litigants were safely evacuated from the premises. Teams from the dog squad, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), and the bomb disposal squad began thoroughly searching every corner of the court complex.

A large crowd gathered outside the court premises, prompting authorities to deploy heavy police security to maintain order.

Notably, just a few days earlier, Amreli’s post office and passport office had also received bomb threats via email. Authorities are now investigating whether these repeated emails are part of a larger conspiracy or merely a prank. The cyber crime unit and local police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
