<img src="https://static.gujaratsamachar.com/content_image/content_image_221f4b6f-435f-4522-82d2-a78d91f9d742.jpeg" data-filename="content_image_dcb42157-8036-4a27-abd8-19e23a78aa14.jpeg" style="width: 100%;"> Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials conducted raids at Bharat Patel alias Bobby Patel and his associate Charanjit Singh’s offices.Earlier, raids were also conducted at Patel and Singh’s places and more than 1,500 people were illegally sent to the USA and Canada in the last three years, for which the investigation is ongoing.After the death of four members of the family from Dingucha, due to freezing in 2022, the illegal immigrant scam came to light.Enforcement Directorate officials had filed a case of embezzlement of crores of rupees and when raids were conducted at the offices of Bharat alias Bobby Patel and Charanjit Singh, cash of ₹1 crore 50 lakh and foreign currency of ₹50 lakh were seized. Apart from this, ₹1000 crore has been embezzled.Currently, an investigation is underway into human trafficking and money laundering.Furthermore, Bobby Patel and Charanjit would take 70% of the amount and the remaining 30% was to be given to the local agent, until that happened, the passengers were kept confined, due to which four members of the the family died due to cold.In addition to this, entry diaries, documents, digital devices, and passenger-sending details were also found.Chiranjit and Bobby used to take ₹75 lakh from one person to send them to America, but they used to decide on ₹1 crore-₹50 lakh with their commission, and they used to send them through the borders of Mexico and European countries to America and Canada.Both of them had made a ‘Go On America’ app through which they used to send people to America and they also had a WhatsApp group of their agents.Also read :<a href="https://english.gujaratsamachar.com/news/nri-news/indian-origin-man-among-two-convicted-for-deaths-of-gujarati-family-crossing-us-canada-border" target="_blank">Indian-origin man among two convicted for deaths of Gujarati family crossing US-Canada border</a>
